Light. Those of us blessed enough to see are lucky enough to walk around every day and marvel at the wonders of light play. Some of us have taken up the camera and made it our goal to capture this beauty through the use of lenses, filters, and time.
We have workshops coming up in Seoul – September, Chiang Mai – November, and Ko Phi Phi – December, and these are all about light and how we use it to craft the images we make. Come out and join us for an in depth workshop on photography techniques to take your pictures to the next level.
The real reason for this post is that today we are announcing the winner of our second competition for 2012 – “The Light Fantastic.” We had some fantastic entries coming in, and it was a hard choice in the end. Our wonderful team came down to a few final images, and we narrowed it down to this fantastic scene by Keith Nunes. Keith’s photograph embodied everything we were looking for in this competition. His use of light was fantastic, with the silhouettes offsetting the less clear figures in the background, and the colours brought us right into the scene. On top of this, he showed us a moment in the life of humans in another part of the world. Congratulations, Keith, on your fantastic capture.
Keith will be receiving a set of Flash Wave III Radio Triggers from SMDV Korea very soon, and we look forward to seeing some flash works from him soon!
A big thanks to SMDV Korea for the fantastic prize!
Of the other entrants, we would like to showcase a few more honourable mentions, as there were so many fantastic images submitted. Stay tuned for more competitions, workshops, and blogs on all things travel photography!
